Lasqueti Community Association AGM

Event Date:
Sunday, May 4, 2014 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm

LCA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The LCA is holding its AGM on Sunday May 4, 2014 at 1pm at the Community Hall. We need a quorum of 15 people to get the meeting rolling. Please come and be part of the longest running community association on Lasqueti  (you either need to own property or to have lived here for at least six months). Membership costs $5 and gives you the opportunity to vote on any issues that come up.

There will be a review of the current financial statements (which will be mailed out in April) and all committees will give their reports. This includes the Hall Committee, the Hall Electrical Committee, the Site Planning (Grounds) Committee, the Outdoor Stage Committee, the Water Committee, the Ferry Committee, and the Director of the Harbour Authority of French Creek. There will be elections for the executive positions.

The AGM will be followed by an extraordinary meeting. On the agenda will be forming committees (existing and any new proposed committees), discussing hall insurance (in particular a self insurance proposal), and anything else you, the community, wants to talk about.

If you have any questions please call me at 8595.

The LCA was established in 1971 and incorporated as a charitable organization in 1978.   The purpose of the organization is simple: “to promote community development.” An annual general meeting is held in the spring, usually early May. Anyone who either owns property on Lasqueti or has lived here for a minimum of six months may join.
