Lasqueti Fire Hazard - High-

The Coastal Fire Centre is responding (often in conjunction with local fire departments) to a high volume of human caused fires due to our very dry conditions.  Even though it is fall and your woodshed may not be full please exercise caution when operating machinery in the bush.  After 3 days with a fire hazard rating of HIGH bush activities involving the use of any type of internal combustion engine is limited to early shift (forest practices code).  Early shift calls for a shut down of activities by 13:00 and post a 1 hr. fire watch in all areas work was undertaken.  Please plan your work accordingly.
