Diversity in the community.

I am not for, or against media on Lasqueti but what I see going on here is a reaction to fear and decisions made from a place of fear are never good.

We are Lasquetian! We traverse some of the roughest waters on the inside passage. We haul wood and
carry water from 7 to 75. We unfreeze our pipes at 1am in the dead of winter and we fight brambles in the height of summer. Lasqueti is not for everybody. Full time residents know that she will either love you up or spit you out. It takes A LOT of hard work to live here full time. The island in itself is self regulating. Case in point. Note the number of homes sold despite years of attention.

The media will pass but give them controversy and they will have something to talk about.

Regardless of the television interest, people are always going to visit here like it or not. That is diversity and what makes our strong community successful.

As pointed out in the post. "nobody could expect unanimity, especially on Lasqueti" This statement alone negates the proposal. The post is only a representation of some. We are not of one voice on this matter, thankfully we are diverse in our opinions. I for one am not willing to give someone carte blanche to speak on my behalf and I suggest caution if you do. We are not homogenous and we do not live in a gated community.
