Planting reminders - 2nd batch of lettuce

By the look of the gardens I have visited it would seem that we have an endless supply of greens. Don't get caught!!! in a few weeks time the lettuce will be bolting in the heat and heading towards bitter.

It's time to plant your second round of.....

Greens, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, winter leeks and spinach.

If you want big heads of garlic and onions, side dress your beds with bonemeal. These bulbs are heavy feeders.

Rhubarb is too.  A good dose of nitrogen (fish fert, alfalfa, blood meal) is what these plants need after first harvest.

And don't forget to cover your carrots.  Rustfly is in full swing and looking for a place to lay.

Need some gardening advice?  Come on up and Carmen, Deb and I will help you out.

I look forward to seeing you here.
