Update on meeting with MOT

I met with Johnathan and Tim of MOT Nanaimo Thursday afternoon for over an hour. They were pleased to get proof of public funds spent on TB wharf road (as it is named in our 1929 survey) and also proof of commercial use. With the information presented we can show continuous public use of the site for over 100 years. Keep writing your letters-they really help.

What will be really great is when the pics of the wharf taken from the steamship are dug out and posted, so in your spare time try crawling through bcarchives or some such site. Here's a few links to 1901 when a steamship (SS Hating) poking through the fog ran up on Jervis Island and was stuck for a while. There are photos too. Daily Colonist Wed Oct 16,1901) Also in the Colonist dated 1912-03-27 is a government listing: Repairs to Tucker Bay wharf-$4000.

Even though we have a big pile of evidence in our favor now is no time to get complacent, so please start or continue digging and let us know what you find...Karl
