Winter Dance & Yoga with Denise

DANCE AND YOGA CLASSES FOR THE WINTER

Welcome the Winter with Dance and Yoga and treat yourself to the many benefits that these two disciplines offer: such as enhancing and improving coordination, flexibility, balance, strength, alignment, stamina,breath, grace, efficiency of movement, body awareness,concentration, a sense of well-being, stress release and strengthening neural pathways that support improved cognitive and psychosocial development.  Movement is medicine.

Classes will start  on Monday, January 30th. Newcomers are encouraged and welcomed.
Based on the premise that everyone can dance all classes are intended to encourage and celebrate the moving expressive body. Please see class schedules below.

*A class designed to improve placement, strength, flexibility, focusing on moving more efficiently, alleviating stress on joints, preparing the body to move in a more healthful and vibrant way.  Dance Conditioning blends Bartenieff Fundamentals, Floor Barre, Yoga,  and basic Ballet.  Everyone welcome.

Flow Yoga*                                Tuesdays                     9:30 - 11:30

*This unique and inspiring practice is designed to optimize your immune system, strengthen important neural pathways for whole brain function,  and promote ease of movement. This rejuvenating practice will release stagnant energy and conclude with a well-earned deep relaxation.  All levels welcome.

Yoga Dance*                             Wednesdays                5:15 - 7:15

*This gentle but stimulating and invigorating practice blends Yoga, and Dance.  Drawing from  the mindfulness of Yoga, the connectivity patterns of Bartenieff's Fundamentals, and  the fluidity of Modern Dance this class provides a gateway to full  expression.

Laban's 16 Mov't Themes*            Wednesdays          1:30- 3:30

*In this playful adult class, dancers will be introduced to movement expression through Laban’s Sixteen Movement Themes including Body, Effort (time, weight, space & flow), Space and Shape.  Everyone welcome.

YOUTH DANCE

Baby Time*                                           day & time to be announced 

*Baby time invites you to spend quality time with your baby. This class offers fun and appropriate movements for building baby's body and brain. While dancing together through songs and music you will learn how to support and encourage tummy-time  so baby can move through the early developmental patterns that wire the central nervous system and brain.

*This fun-filled class blends dance, physical theatre, and voice, encouraging spontaneity, improvisation, full creative expression and play.

All classes will be taught by Artistic Director, Denise Lieutaghi, who is a certified teacher of the Bill Evans Method of Teaching Modern Dance Certification Program (Bill's Dance Technique approaches dance holistically by uniquely blending Laban Movement Analysis  and Bartenieff Fundamentals, from body function to expression).  Denise is a certified Radiant Health Yoga® Teacher.  Radiant Health Yoga is a holistic health practice that blends the ancient teachings of Hatha Yoga with contemporary body-mind science.
