It's Tax Time!

But instead of laying over and letting them suck us dry, this issue is packed full of empowering information to stop the bureaucrats in their tracks!  And make no mistake about it, the time is NOW to act...there are some huge increases about to be imposed by the qRD, the ethics of which is very much in question!

And if you don't know yet, a fibre optic cable is headed to our wee isle...there's lots of info about how, who, when, where and even why, so we can have a full and informed discussion on Saturday, March 23rd from 1pm to 5pm at the Community Hall.

This issue is packed full of Art!  The Last Word not only gives us a glimpse into our island's art history, it gives us a new drawing to inspire, while the Monthly Festival of Arts has a stunning oil and more amazing pastels that will brighten the end of Winter.

Speaking of transitioning to Spring, Gord gives you inspiring directions on how to make this the best year in your garden, yet!

Thanks to Tracee and Aslan for reminding us about the LTC meeting on Monday...you may wish to read "Lasqueti's LTC: the Year in Review" before you come out to the JFC @ 11am on March 4th for this important LTC meeting.

This month's History of Logging on Lasqueti focuses on some of the first mechanical methods of moving logs around and how and when that happened here.

Meanwhile, Nikki introduces us to a high tech solution to an issue that continues to engulf us and harm our health...only this invisible beast is all-too-real.

After making this month's recipe (cookies!), you can munch while you do the challenging crossword (solution is just below), solve the jokes from Down Under, Name this Month's Product, chuckle at the cartoons and Babylon Bee, and be inspired by another glimpse into Nonviolent Communication.

Enjoy the hearty read!
